Byrd played in his first pickleball tournament in 2016 at the intermediate (3.5) level. He turned pro in 2017 and by 2018 was playing at the highest level in tournaments around the country as a pro senior open player.
Byrd is a professional player sponsored by Team Selkirk and has played in the Senior Open Pro Division at the following tournaments:
