Volley Transformation

My path from 3.5 to 5.0…

… was paved with volleying my ass off!

Let’s start your journey to your next higher ranking with a new approach to volleying that emphasizes ready-position, anticipation and control. You will be a better volleyer after this clinic… > 100% better!

We will focus on neutralizing power players by developing your high volley, the vital low volley, and a razor-sharp punch volley. Through focused training, we’ll work on shutting down hard-hit bangers and absorbing their pace. Your new volley technique will convert defense into decisive offense, take control of rallies and secure more points in every match you play.

Please register WITH a drilling partner. I will leave you with all of the tools for retraining your volley on your way to your next DUPR rating. 🙂

Players should be at least at the 3.0 level.

Once again, I ENCOURAGE YOU to register with a drilling partner so as to have a consistent partner to learn with as well as enhance your drilling routine together.

Monday, November 24th, 6:30pm to 9pm, $70

I thoroughly enjoyed your clinic! You are a great, common sense presenter, who did not overload us with information and shared practical, skill building drills! I appreciate you sharing your expertise in this sport that has captured SO many of us! BE WELL AND HAVE FUN!

Hey BYRD! Gotta thank you one more time for the super fab clinic today! Been making notes, trying to remember the best I can….but have to say….you were fabulous! As a teacher myself, I recognize that the ability to actually TEACH is totally different than the ability and skill set a person has that enables spectacular play. You have captured the art of teaching and harnessed the ability to communicate…optimal attributes for a great coach! And you are!

Byrd has a distinct talent to asses the range of skills of everyone in his small clinic and work to elevate their unique game rather than a one-size-fits-all approach to the game. Both his direct feedback, as well as his joy of players and game, will stick. This was the first clinic that challenged how I think about the game and I am quite delighted when I am challenged.

I thoroughly enjoyed the clinic and your style of teaching.  So much of my play depends on instinctual actions, and your drills totally tapped into that buried mind/body connection for me.  I already have put some of what we worked on into my game and find myself slowing down…or maybe the game just seems slower!  Who knows? Who cares.  It works.

I really enjoyed your camp…the 4 hours flew by.

You provided a good mix of theory, drills, strategy and stories from your playing career that made the camp very enjoyable.
